About this program

The Dhamma Circle programme, hosted by the Buddhist Library, is an informal monthly gathering that seeks to support participants in their practice of the Dhamma. A typical session includes teaching on the chosen topic, possible sharing by guest speakers and time for discussion and questions.
Upcoming dates and topics include:

  • 4 Jan 2025: “Is Reality Really Real?” –  Reality and actuality as related to our five senses and their relationship to conceptual perceptions.
  • 15 Feb 2025: “Going into Jhana” – The various stages of Jhanic absorption and implications for our life journey.
  • 1 Mar 2025: “The Development of Buddha Nature”
  • 5 Apr 2025“BuddhaDhamma in Daily Life”
  • 3 May 2025“Path of Liberation – the Bojjhanga Sutta” – Using this sutta in our daily life so as to eventually liberate from suffering. Cancelled due to Polling Day. Check back on this website to see further details, including topics for July 2025 onwards.
  • 14 Jun 2025: “How Rebirth Takes Place” – A detailed description of the re-becoming of a human with some scientific explanation.

Bro. Jeffrey Po

Bro. Jeffrey is the Founding President of the Association of Psychotherapists and Counsellors (APACS), Certified trainer for Professional Counselling Supervision, Certified Spiritual Counsellor, Certified Meditation instructor, Certified Thanothologist.

Jeffrey had previously served in the management committee of Buddhist Research Society (Buddhist Library) and actively organised spiritual/religious tours for members of BL to India, Sri Lanka and Borobudur. He was an active speaker and presenter in BL’s “Introduction to Buddhism” course and designed the “Introduction to Buddhist Psychology (Abhidhamma)” series that ran for a decade. He organised the first “Science and Buddhism” symposium in 2008 and organised the first “Diploma in Buddhist Studies” in Singapore.

He is presently advisor to Dot Connections Growth Centre (DC), and lectures there and at various dhamma centres.

Bro. Jeffrey has published several books, a number of which are available at the Buddhist Library.

Bro. Jeffrey has a PhD in Counselling Psychology, a Certificate in Comprehensive Buddhist Studies (Buddhist Research Society – Buddhist Library), Dipl. in Buddhist Study (YMBA) , and a Dipl. in Buddhist Study (Buddhist & Pali College)
