About this program

The Youth Group Discussion, hosted by the Buddhist Library – Venerable Viharagala Paññāloka (“Bhante Paññā”), is an informal monthly gathering that seeks to support youth in their practice of the Dhamma. A typical session includes teaching on the chosen topic, possible sharing by guest speakers and time for discussion and questions.

  • 11th April                    Stress, Burnout, and “Always Being Busy”
    • Many young adults feel constantly tired; work, studies, family expectations, social media, and financial pressure. Even during rest, the mind doesn’t stop working.
      • What causes stress beyond workload?

      • Can success exist without burnout?
  • 9th  May                     Money, Success, and “Enough”
    • Singapore is a high-cost, high-achievement society. Many youths ask: How much is enough? When will I feel secure?

  • 13th June                   Relationships: Attachment, Expectations, and Disappointment
    • Romantic relationships, friendships, and family ties bring joy, but also jealousy, fear, and disappointment.

  • 11th July                      Failure, Mistakes, and Starting Over
    • Youth fear making wrong choices, career, relationships, studies. Failure often feels like personal defeat.

    • Many define themselves by job titles or academic results.
      • Who am I without my role?
      • Fear of slowing down

    • Many chase happiness but feel empty when pleasure fades.
      • Difference between pleasure and well-being
      • Why happiness doesn’t last

    • True Refuge in an uncertain World is difficult to be ascertained.
