Come join us for this special 1-day retreat involving a morning outdoor mindfulness programme and an onsite, afternoon Dharma programme.

Admin Pointers – Important!

  1. Please bring water, your own snack, umbrella & a hat, and wear loose clothing & walking shoes.
  2. Clothing worn should be modest. In particular, participants are requested not to wear short pants or skirts which end above the knees, and not to wear sleeveless clothing.

About the Facilitators

Venerable Dr. Wiloye Wimalajothi ("Bhante Jothi")

Venerable Dr. Wiloye Wimalajothi (“Bhante Jothi”) has been Resident Monk at the Buddhist Library Singapore since Dec 2012.

Bhante graduated with a First Class Honours from the University of Peradeniya and taught at the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies of University of Peradeniya from 1992 to 1996. He subsequently went to United Kingdom where he resided for 14 years.

He has received several academic awards for his competence in Pali. He is also a prolific writer and has written several Dhamma books in Sinhalese.

Venerable Viharagala Paññāloka (“Bhante Paññā”) arrived in Singapore from Sri Lanka in Jan 2024. Coming from a previous stint in Sri Lanka working as an academic educator, he is now teaching modules in the Master of Arts in Buddhist Studies offered by the Buddhist Library Graduate School. He is also currently leading the Library’s long-standing Tuesday Guided Meditation programme and providing Dhamma education for parents of our Mindfulness for Young Children programme.

Venerable has first class degrees in Buddhist Studies and Buddhist Leadership, and also holds a Diploma in Buddhist Counselling Psychology.

Venerable Faxun 法巽法师
Ven Faxun 法巽法师 is a Singaporean Buddhist monastic who is passionate about sharing the practice and benefits of secular mindfulness with the wider community.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts and Education degree from the University of Western Australia, and has designed a mindfulness programme “Mindfulness and Loving Kindness (M.I.L.K.) in Education” as part of her Master’s Degree, which was piloted in a primary school in Singapore.

Ven Faxun has over twenty years of experience in teaching both children and adults at various Buddhist centres in Singapore, Malaysia and Western Australia. She is the author of the book “One Life, Five Precepts”, and contributes articles to Buddhist magazines.
