About this program
The Dhamma Circle programme, hosted by the Buddhist Library, is an informal monthly gathering that seeks to support participants in their practice of the dhamma. A typical session includes teaching on the chosen topic, possible sharing by guest speakers and time for discussion and questions.

Upcoming dates and topics include:

  • Jul 6 2024: “Spiritual Approach to Mental Well-being” – discussion on mental well-being vs mental health and tips to develop mental health including mental wellness.
  • Aug 3 2024: “Spiritual Awakening and Spiritual Liberation” – significance of spiritual awakening and how this is more meaningful than religious awakening. Video screening.
  • Sep 7 2024: “Chasing After Happiness? Why Are We So Obsessed Over This?” – What Gotama Buddha has to say in this matter.
  • Oct 5, 2024: “The Brain and its Role in Spiritual Awakening” – The brain, central nervous system, meditation that leads to spiritual awakening.
  • Nov 2, 2024: “Is There a Creator?” – planned creation versus process creation; where does Buddhism stand?
  • Dec 7, 2024: “The Three and Five Bodies of the Buddha” – Are there really three, five or even seven (etc.) bodies of a Buddha? Then, what happens to Gotama Buddha, and where does he stand?
